Operation Encompass
The Governors and staff at Holland Moor treat all safeguarding and child protection issues very seriously.
Operation Encompass is a partnership between police and schools, a school can only join if the local police force has already joined Operation Encompass.
One of the principles of Operation Encompass is that all incidents of domestic abuse are shared with schools, not just those where an offence can be identified.
Operation Encompass has been created to address this so that by 9.00am on the next school day the school’s Key Adult will be informed that the child or young person has been involved, heard or witnessed a domestic incident. This knowledge, given to schools through Operation Encompass, allows the provision of immediate early intervention through silent or overt support dependent upon the needs and wishes of the child.
At Holland Moor our Key Adult is Mrs Naomi Holland (also the Designated Safeguarding Lead)
